Live Earth - Ethos - Água Potável

O problema do Aquecimento Global é a causa primeira para o Live Earth, o mega concerto que se iniciou hoje. O mérito da iniciativa consiste na chamada de atenção para um problema sério e real, apesar de difuso e ainda com relativamente reduzido impacto nas vidas dos afluentes cidadãos do Hemisfério Norte. Quem mais sofre na pele com os desvairos climáticos são ainda, e sempre, os mesmos: os pobres do sul. Esses não têm acesso ao festim que se vive no Ocidente.
Basta somente pensar na água potável que na Figueira desperdiçamos todos os dias com regas absolutamente inúteis e muitas contraproducentes. No Sul, a água potável é um bem caro, e escasso.

Madonna, for example, who is billed to perform in London, owns a fleet of large cars and gets about in a private jet. Last year, her Confessions tour produced 440 tonnes of CO2 in four months, just to fly her to the gigs, without counting the footprint of the events themselves. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, also on the London line-up, are fans of private jet travel too, notching up 220 tonnes of CO2 on the 42 gigs of their last world tour. What do they plan to say to the fans who, depending on where they live, emit between less than one ton and eight tonnes a year in their personal lives? Switch off your heating because first class is not good enough for me?
